Do You Need To Send Anonymous Emails?

Do You Need to Send Anonymous Emails?Do You Need to Send Anonymous Emails? by Cedric Loiselle

The common misconception is that you can be private on the internet. But that is never true. Although most people do not need a hundred percent privacy, there are a few who do, and there are instances when people just want to be anonymous. For instance, you want to send an email to someone without showing your identity, one option is to sign up a new email address using a pseudonym. But this will not keep the recipient from tracking your IP. Now, that’s not really a perfect way to send an anonymous email.

That is why clever folks came up with online tools that can help you hide yourself from your recipients. They have come up with “anonymizers” that keep your email recipients from tracking you down. These tools also help people move stealthily on the web, but there is more to going anonymous than simply being able to send secret emails.

There are many reasons why people want anonymity. Maintaining an unknown status online is one way to keep you from being a victim of email harvesting. Many websites take email addresses randomly from the web. These fished out email addresses can be used for a variety of purposes. Unscrupulous people may take email addresses and send them spam.

People who cannot be straightforward to their friends or bosses can send anonymous emails. If you are afraid to tell your friend they have bad breath or your boss that they’re annoying, you can opt to write an unnamed email. And, you can be complacent that they would know nothing about the origin of the message.

If you want to solve a crime without having to expose yourself as the source of the evidence, a secret email can make you an instrument and keep your security intact. This is one instance in which a nameless email can become a potential crime busting vehicle.

Many people also want to have a secret identity for other reasons. For hopeless romantics, this can be an ideal way for them to express what’s in their heart. If it’s hard for you to spill the beans to someone you so secretly hold affection for, you can start by sending them a mysterious mail. Of course, they would not know it’s you, so you’re safe. But what’s the point of expressing your feelings to someone if you don’t want them to know it’s you?

Other reasons are not that serious. Some people just want to play prank on others by sending them funny—or offending—mails. They won’t be caught anyway. You can get away with a mail prank, but this could be a reason why some people hate secret identities on the internet. Some mild joke would be all right, but serious hoaxes can be damaging personally or could cause unnecessary panic. So, you have to be careful when playing practical jokes online.

There are tools online that help you send anonymous emails. You can just look them up on Google. Some tools need to be downloaded, while others should be used directly on their site.

Use anonymity sparingly, as you cannot be too invisible online. You might not get credit for the good things you pass around.
